What is a club home page?

A club home page is a free, private space within this website. Only the members
of your club and others you welcome as visitors can access this page.
Club home pages are designed to support large hiking clubs but also can be used for
small informal groups of friends who regularly hike together.

Why would I use a club home page? |
|
|
For several purposes:
- To plan hikes, meetings, and other events
- For online discussions
- To share photos
If you wish, Hiking Ideas will also send emails:
- To remind members and guests of upcoming events
- To notify members when someone posts a response to a discussion forum

My club members wouldn't want any unsolicited emails. |
|
|
We won't send any emails unless you ask us to.
Hiking Ideas will never send unsolicited advertising emails to
members and will never make email addresses or other personal information
available to other companies.

Why is it free? How can Hiking Ideas make money? |
|
|
Currently Hiking Ideas is not making money. Once enough hikers are
visiting the site, we will offset the costs of maintaining the site through
hiking-related advertising.

What will my hiking website look like? |
|
|
You can choose from four different design themes for your website:

How do members know about upcoming events? |
|
|
There are multiple ways members will see upcoming events. On the club home page they
will see the upcoming events as shown in the picture below. The X shows
where today is and the colored in squares show where the upcoming events are. When
you or any of your members creates an event they can choose to have an email sent
to the members to notify them. The event creator can also choose to have guests
reminded prior to the event via email.
